Memorize the Quran with a plan that fits you, and a partner who listens

Pick a surah or a juz and how many days you have. We split it into a daily portion by pages, then you recite it to a fellow Muslim who listens and points out what you missed.

وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ

“And We have certainly made the Quran easy to remember — so is there anyone who will be mindful?” — Al-Qamar 54:17

Started memorizing more than once, then stopped?

You're not alone. Most people who drop off don't lack sincerity — they're missing one of three things.

How it works

From goal to completion in three steps

  1. Choose your goal

A whole surah or more, one of the 30 juz, or a hizb for a mid-sized goal. See ready-made plans for every surah (in Arabic).

  2. Set the duration or daily portion

In how many days? Or how much per day? We estimate the daily time and your completion date in both Hijri and Gregorian.

  3. Memorize your portion every day

See the exact ayah range and page from the Madinah Mushaf, with a reminder at the time you choose. Miss a day? Catch up with a short plan.

Plans

A plan split by pages, not by guesswork

Choose a goal and a duration, and we calculate your daily portion from the Madinah Mushaf and show the ayah range for every day.

  • Daily time and ayah count estimated before you start
  • A gentle heads-up if the portion is too heavy for the duration
  • Catch up on missed days with a short plan — no starting over
  • An end-of-plan report with your consistency and missed days

Recitation

Stop reciting to yourself — someone here will listen

Request a listener who's available right now to correct and strengthen your memorization, or be the listener for someone else and earn the reward.

  • Men with men and women with women only, no profile photos
  • Voice-only calls that are never recorded
  • The listener sees the ayahs and flags hesitation or mistakes with a tap
  • A note from the listener after every session, counted as today's portion

Review

Review that keeps what you memorized, page by page

Every page you memorize gets its own review schedule: near review alongside new memorization until it settles, and far review that comes back right before you'd forget.

  • Near review with your daily portion until new pages settle
  • Far review that spaces out as you master it: 7, then 14, 30 and 60 days
  • Anything you stumbled on comes back tomorrow until it sticks
  • A comfortable daily cap — overflow rolls to tomorrow without counting against you
Far-review screen: pages of Surah Ya-Sin, each marked “mastered” or “stumbled”, with its next review date

Challenges & community

Compete and cheer each other on

Start a challenge with friends or your halaqa and follow each other's consistency day by day. Good company helps you stay the course.

  • Create a challenge and invite friends by username
  • A leaderboard ranked by completed days, then streak length
  • Send a word of encouragement to those memorizing with you
  • Share your completions in the community feed

My record

Your record grows with you

Every day you show up and every surah you complete is saved to your record — so you see how far you've come, not how far is left.

  • Committed days

Days you completed your portion, and your longest unbroken streak.

  • Cumulative pages

A month-by-month curve of what you've memorized, on the Hijri calendar.

  • Add what you already know

Log the surahs and juz you memorized before, so your record starts where you are.

  • A report for every plan

Consistency rate and missed days, with a suggestion to catch up.

“My record” screen: committed days, juz and surahs memorized, and a cumulative pages chart

Your privacy comes first

Recitation is designed to protect your privacy and modesty before anything else.

  • Strict gender separation

Men recite with men and women with women only.

  • Voice only, never recorded

Calls are audio-only and nothing is stored.

  • No photos in sessions

Profile photos are never shown during a recitation.

  • Report in every session

A report button is always visible while reciting.

  • Delete your account anytime

What is Daawem?

Daawem is a free Quran memorization (hifz) app for Android and iPhone. You choose a surah or juz and a number of days, and it splits the goal into a daily portion by pages of the Madinah Mushaf. You then recite to a live listener over a voice call, review on a spaced-repetition schedule, and keep each other consistent through group challenges.

Is the app free?

Yes. Every Daawem feature is free: plans, recitation, challenges and your record.

How do I find someone to listen to my Quran recitation?

In the Recitation tab, tap “Request a recitation” and you're connected by voice call with an available listener of the same gender. The listener sees the ayahs, flags hesitation or mistakes, and leaves you a note after the session. Calls are never recorded. You can also volunteer as a listener for others.

Are recitation calls recorded?

No. Calls are voice-only, nothing is stored, and profile photos are never shown.

Can I change my gender after signing up?

No, because recitation is strictly men with men and women with women.

Are plans based on the Madinah Mushaf?

Yes. Goals are split by pages of the Madinah Mushaf (604 pages), with the ayah range shown for each day.

How many pages a day do I need to memorize the whole Quran?

The Madinah Mushaf has 604 pages. At one page a day you finish in about 1 year and 8 months; at two pages a day, about 10 months; at half a page a day, about 3 years and 4 months. Daawem shows the duration and completion date in Hijri and Gregorian before you start.

What if I miss a day?

You don't start over. Missed days appear in your plan report, and you can catch up with a short plan.

How does review work?

Every page you memorize comes back on schedule: near review with your daily portion until it settles, then at intervals that grow as you master it (7, 14, 30, then 60 days). Anything you stumbled on comes back the next day.

Can I memorize with friends or my halaqa?

Yes. Create a challenge and invite friends by username. You get a leaderboard ranked by completed days and streak length, and can send encouragement and share completions in the community feed.

Which devices does Daawem support?
